The castle of XVI century,guard by UNESCO, was destroyed in Belarus. They call it 'reconstruction'

The castle belonged to Radzivil's family, most rich and powerfully family if whole eastern Europe. It survived dozens of wars but not reconstruction of Belarusian ignorant specialist.

A lot of historical buildings were destroyed all over Belarus last years. Soviet-mind builders don't mind history, culture and so on...It's okay for this stupid crowds of Lukashenko supporters.

I hope all of this builders will carry punishment in the future.

Last week “Nasha Niva” – oldest Belarusian newspaper – published an article about Stasi, East Germany's brutish intelligence organisation. Stasi controlled all spheres of everyday life, had army of intelligencers and used advanced psychological techniques. Stasi along with monitoring of society discriminated opposition leaders and made efforts to eliminate self-reliance of dissidents. Oppositional activists expelled from Universities and fired. Even a small dirty trick can brings to diffidence.

After the reading of the article I found a huge amount of such trick in action of Belarusian KGB with ease. For instance, during today competent oppositional concert in Minsk the electricity was switched off by police wretches. This accident got into a bad mood thousand of young people.

Ex-stasi officers can’t take up a posts and have to live with the shame all theirs lifes.
There is no doubt the end of KGB will be the same as Stasi’s one.

Timaphej Dranchuk is my first prisoned friend

My friend Timaphej Dranchuk was sentenced to imprisonment for one year tomorrow. Last year he organized independent supervision of Belarusian presidential elections but suddenly was arrested before the event. He was accused of terrorism and violations of civil rights. I know Timaphej for a long time and accusation seem stupid for me. No doubt this process was politically motivated.

Timaphej's son was born when he was arrested already and they will make the acquaintance only next year.

Now you have a great possibility to see how the last European dictator Lukashenko sing songs and spend free time. This clip was showed before presidential elections in 2001.

The clip show one day from presidential live. Lukashenko have fun, engage in sports, drink expensive beverage but there isn't any scene how he work. I think he don't work at all.

The protest action near Russian embassy was cruelly breaked up by Belarusian special militia. Around 50 men were arrested, some of them were beaten.

The youth is against Russian occupation of Belarus

I've uploaded a movie with the action of Belarusian youth against Russian occupation. The movie was taken in 1997 after signature of Russian-Belarusian Union agreement. Nine years passed but the situation is without changes. The union is fictitious but the possibility of the occupation isn't.

Nowadays it is impossible to organize such action. The polise become much more aggressive. All participants of the action would be prisoned.

I was too young in 1997 but some of my friends were present at this action. They are still strugle.

Gas...G8 summit

ITAR-TASS reports about possibility to sell 50% of the shares of ‘BelTransGaz’ (state owner of the gas pipe) in exchange for some assets of Gazprom. This deal can help to supply Belarus with cheap gas in spite of rise of official gas cost.

So, gas question can be switched from the political sphere to economic one without damage to Russian geo-policy and Belarusian economy. Russia will be seem pure before G8 summit this summer.

Lukashenko asked Yuschenko to be an mediator in dealing with EU

Last week Victor Yuschenko said he can be a mediator between Belarusian authority and the opposition (Gazeta Wyborcza, 12.05.2006).

As Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports, Lukashenko asked Yuschenko to be an mediator in dealing with EU not the opposition (via telegraf.by).

This announcements is especially interesting after Russian denial to support of Belarusian economy. Lukashenko seems to be exhausted by his flip and flop policy and populism.

I feel giddy from the latest news and announcements but hope it's all for the best.

Belarusian abnormal internal situation causes unusual forms of civil disobedience.

10 people were arrested on Friday during a flashmob because they ate ice-cream simultaneously on the main square of Minsk. This wasn't a politic action but the information about it was posted to a popular flashmob community which is tracked by special services. So, police and KGB made their work absurd.

Meanwhile, the youth invent the new forms of resistance. Here you can see a video clip with an interesting performance. A guy installed a tent with 'No one is going to stop us' inscription on place where the tent camp was situated.

The clip caused a sensation in the Internet community and a dismay in Belarusian KGB.

Possible victims of flash-mobs

I wrote about flash-mobs as a new form of a politic struggle. Recently the police began to detain the participants of flashmobs and make a list of their names. I think this is just an intimidation of flashmobbers but also have an anxiety. All this activists can be expelled from Universities during summer examinations with hope that they will be sheltered by Western countries. The less active people in belarus are, the better it is for the regime.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a powerful tool for promotion of commercial websites and web services. But Belarusians SEO specialists are peculiar. They use the knowledge for expose Belarusian television and Mr. Lukashenko.

Some days ago the top result for phrase "лож" (lie) in Yandex.ru search engine were:

Mr. Zimovski (Chief of odious Belarusian TV ) and Mr. Proleskovsky (Chief ideologist of President's administration) couldn't fly to Cuba

The flight of an official Belarusian delegation was delayed due to Ireland and Canada didn't allow to fill up the airplane because two persons of the delegation was added to the Blacklist. The flight was happen after decision of Mr. Zimovski (Chief of odious Belarusian TV) and Mr. Proleskovsky (Chief ideologist of President's administration) to stay at home. How humiliating for them...

Meantime, one delegate, Anatoly Lakesnikau, died during this visit. He fell down from a balcony. Official medias don't inform about this accident because Anatoly Lakesnikau was an officer of Belarusian arms company "BelSpecVneshTekhnika". I think, Belarusian delegation discussed the delivery of Russian arms to Cuba.

Belarus had a big amount of arms after the collapse of the USSR. Lukashenko begun to sell this arms but Belarusian economy haven't any benefits. All money was collected in personal bank accounts of Lukashenko.

Russia, gas and money

Gas price is extremely impotent for Belarusian economy. Mr. Lukashenko is still a ruler just due to possibility to re-export Russian gas to Western Europe and using this extra money for financing of social programs.

I hope gas price is a question only of money but Russian can also achieve another results.

I see some reasons for gas price talks:

1. Russia shows to G7 countries that they stopped to support Belarusian regime as they don't want to have problems during G8 summit this summer. When the summit will be completed they can forget about higher gas prices for Belarus.

2. Russian showed interest in purchasing Belarusian gas pipe some years ago but Belarusian government don't sell it still. Russia hope to force this purchasing with blackmail. But Lukashenka lose his weak influence on Russia without the pipe.

3. Some days ago Gazprom's representative said this will be a nice idea to make gas payments with a common Russian-Belarusian currency. This is a good chance for Russians to take to take Belarusian economy levers to their hands and even to make a common state.

Around 18 persons was arrested during today's flash mobs just for participation. Flash mob (flash mobilization) is a new for of pretest in Belarus. The participants don't to break the law, but belarusian KGB and special police arrest them.

Arrests during a flash mob

Eight persons was arrested today by Belarusian special police during a flash mob consecrated closing of Union of Belarusian writers.
Another flash mob will be run in the evening. We will show a newspaper "Nasha Niva" closing by Executive Committee of the Minsk City. "Nasha Niva" is the oldest Belarusian newspaper with a greate history.

Chernobyl's road

20s anniversary of Chernobyl nuclear disaster was yesterday. Around 25% of Belarusian territory was polluted and hundreds of people live in dangerous places. More than 100,000 belarusians was or will be die due to radiation as some international organizations reckon. USSR's government tried to keep back a fact of the disaster but thanks to Western counties we know about it.

Nowadays Mr. Lukashenko (authoritarian president of Belarus) also tries to reduce meaning of the disaster. He said:"I was in polluted region. It can be settled." He force belarusian student to work in dangerous regions and even organized production of foodstuff here.

We had a big actions of protest against the lie yesterday. Around 10,000 of supporters of democratic opposition took part in it. I was with "Freedom!" sign and a smile :)
